Patch your stereo into your sound card, use a MP3 grabber program, start the cassette or record, click the record button on the grabber software and presto mp3's. I've converted almost 200 albums this way and it works great. You should be able to find mp3 grabber software on the Internet as freeware or shareware.

Don't, unless it is vital. You need to put a lead out from your setero into your line in or mic socket on the pc. Then Track by Track you need to record the songs in using a recorder such as soundforge or cool edit or quicktime pro. Then use itunes to convert to mp3. This is very time consuming and very boring. Got to limewire.com and download the software. Then download all the songs you already own. Yes this may be illegal, no I don't really recommend it, but if you already own the stuff then it's up to your morality to decide whether that means you should have it on all formats.
Plus millions of people are doing right now!

Connect the players output into a PC and use Windows Media Player or such like, (nero etc)
Adapters to convert the cable should be available from any good Music Hardware Outlet, Richer Sounds or Ebuyer.co.uk for about £2.00

Copy the audio files onto your computer and convert them to MP3 using a Converter Software.
Those softwares come pricey though.
Do you know what format the tapes are in?

record them onto your computer via many methods. Then you afterwards convert them into .mp3 format. At first they will most likely be .wav files
