My girlfriend was ashamed of her entire vagina for a while and I have no idea why but once she got over it, it just seemed silly later on.

May sometimes happen first time with some women, but its nothing to worry about. Things will settle with time.
So keep going & enjoy. Don't get embarased for no reason.

I think you mean "clitoral hood" ... I am totally comfortable with my genitals. I am accustomed to my partner seeing my body and enjoying me, hense I have no inhibitions when it comes to displaying it. It's not uncommon, however, for one to be uncomfortable, embarressed, guilty, or even ashamed when allowing himself/herself to have genitalia exposed. Since I do not know anything about you or your partner, I don't know what other specific advice to offer you, except to remain patient and communicate. Also, show affection for the appearance of her body; let her know that it gives you pleasure to see every bit of her, and this should help to set her mind at ease.

It is normal to feel self conscious about the size, shape, or even odor of all or part of your genitals. In a committed loving relationship however there is no reason to feel insecure being naked with your partner.

give her time she will get over it.. there is nothing wrong with not liking something but as long as you keep doing what you are doing and make her think there is nothing wrong with it.. she will come around.. and then think of how stupid it was to be embarrassed of something like that.

Well now that im not so in shape, though I still am for many others in comparison, but in my thouhgts my bum is not as perky well yes its embarrasing for me too.
