From the Texan Republican Party Platform for 2004.
Homosexuality-- The party believes that the practice of sodomy tears at the fabric of society, contributes to the breakdown of the family unit and leads to the spread of dangerous communicable diseases.
Homosexual behavior is contrary to the fundamental, unchanging truths that have been ordained by God, recognized by our country’s founders and shared by the majority of Texans.
Homosexuality must not be presented as an acceptable “alternative” lifestyle in our public education and policy, nor should “family” be redefined to include homosexual “couples”.
We are opposed to any granting of special legal entitlements, recognition of privileges including, but not limited to, marriage between persons of the same sex, custody of children by homosexuals, homosexual partner insurance or retirement benefits.
We oppose criminal penalties or civil penalties against those who oppose homosexuality out of faith, conviction, or belief in traditional values.
“We pray God Bless Texas. God bless the U.S.A. God bless us all!”

that is the problem. the seperation between church and state does not truly exist. People who care about you and love you are your family. Marraige is a bond between two people that love and cherish each other. A family blood or not are people who care about you, and make sacrifices for you. It can be anyone. Strict and controlling christian ideas that have been put into peoples heads have made them think that there is no other way to live. That is control and manipulation that the heads of churches want to have over people. Now instaed of believing that people have a choice and God gave us a right to have that choice, people are taking personal offense to something they believe is against thier religion, when religion should have nothing to do with what the law says. God is the most powerful being, and gave people the choice, why should people who think they are better take that right away when most of the time it does not effect them. It does not effect their lifestyle, thier living situation or thier beliefs. Who are these people who press upon the other people of this earth, that have a right just as much as they do to say, no, because God thinks it sin't right? who are these people? are they Gods themselves? Are they even saints. No they are regular people who are living in the same country. They are using the rights to believe and live the way they want....yet the try and make the choice for others. God gave us freedom of choice. The law is supposed to be seperated from the church. What is it that makes this contry so free if the people are bound by rich lawmakers that are using thier own christian beliefs to make the laws?

texans sure are scary.
i wonder if these men are informed on the true definition of sodomy:
anal or oral copulation with a member of the same or opposite sex
so any of those crazies who have ever gotten a ********, or stuck it in there girlfriend or wifes *** is commiting sodomy
hmmmmm.
it is interesting the way religion seems to breed ignorance in a lot of situations, no offense to any specific religion, but it seems that 90% of the time god is used as ammo among these anti gay groups, Its funny that god has such a bearing on our society and rights in a country where we are supposed to be free from any form of religion, its funny, i wonder what would happen to this country if they stopped basing everything on the chrisitian / catholic religions, and based it all on the jewish faith or even something like scientology.

They are just ignorant and scared of differences. Funny thing is Texas is full of very flaming gay guys along with other not so sterotical types of gay, lesbian, straight but gay friendly people, and so on. Would be nice if they would vote more often.
God bless all living things!!

in straightforward terms in Republican us of a might a black guy with Bachelors degree in international kinfolk from Columbia college, a regulation degree from Harvard regulation college, 10 years as a professor of Constitutional regulation on the college of Chicago, 12 years in politics, 4 years on the U.S. Senate distant places kinfolk Committee and supervisor of one of the main impressively perfect and forward questioning presidential campaigns ever no longer be waiting for the presidency on an identical time as a white woman evangelical with 19 months in politics and a bachelors in journalism is seen "waiting on day one."
