First the ore is finely ground the sent to a leaching pit. Potassium cyanide is added to react with the gold to get a gold/cyanide complex compound. It travels to the bottom of the pit, where it is extracted as a solution. The gold is easily removed by various chemical reactions....Don't try this at home, Potassium cyanide is VERY poisonous.

put it in sun--if rays are yellow than it is gold
