Yes, most definitely. An attack on Syria looks more and more likely as the hours pass. If they do, Iran will strike Israel with just about everything it has. In turn Israel will strike Iran, possibly with one of its hundred or so nukes, or with American support for a border incursion. Iran's allies will act (China, Russia, Saudi Arabia etc). From that point Pakistan and India, as well as North Korea and Japan will probably capitalize on tactical advantage....things are not looking good....I'm rarely this paranoid but this really has me scared even as an ex-military man.

The USSR doesn't exist and Russia China or any of the other nuclear powers is going to go to bat for the Palestinians or Lebanese. Israel did not start anything. They are simply defending themselves. On both fronts they have troops that have been kidnapped. I applaud them for being straight up and retaliating. They don't eff with political bs. They see it as it is. I hope they crush those who have attacked them.
