They scrapped it because Blair Witch 2 bombed. Personally, I haven't seen 2, but I thought 1 was pretty interesting. Maybe I should rent it, if you recommend it.

The first film was actually unique, while the 2nd just didn't bring anything new to the table. I think that's where most of the disappointment lies with the sequel.
