Peter R has the right answer. Be very aware of what is going on around you not only at home but in large public parking areas, I have a friend that was attacked in a public parking lot at a shopping center luckily she came out with a few bruises and lumps and was robbed but survived, and about a month ago a lady and two of her children were shot and killed here in Tennessee. So it is not only at home that you need to be ready to defend yourself. Thanks to our drug situation there are alot of people that will do anything to get more drug money.
I have two great danes that are big babies until they hear two words, a loaded shotgun and 9MM and .380 which is with me at all times and several other weapons of choice, thank God I've never had to use them but neither my husband or I would hesitate if some one threatened our home or we were threatened in public. For those who don't like guns you need to take a look at Australia, they took away the right to bear arms and now have more crime that ever as there is always a black market for someone seeking a gun and if they are buying from the black market their intentions aren't good.
By the way all of us should thank Peter R for serving our country and helping to keep it safe. God Bless

I was aprofessional soldier for 22 years and trust me, all the cameras and locks in the world don´t make a difference if your personal security is not up to scratch. You start with yourself then work to your surroundings.
You don´t need to be paranoid about it but be more aware of what goes on around you.
If somebody was stupid enough to either attack me or my property, their chances of going home in a body bag are very high.
