What is Java and what dos it do.

make sure you're connected. Top left hand box.
It can take a few mins to connect.
0@0 KB/s will change when connected. Bottom left hand corner.
Make sure you have a GOOD anti-virus installed on your PC.
P.S.
You might have to un-install and then re-install Limewire.
The first time I installed Limewire it didn't work. After re-installing it worked fine.

OK, i guess you don't know what to do there.
When you double click on the icon on your desktop, and the limewire opens up, first of all, do you do "Search"?
Look at the top left hand corner, you'll see the tab "Search". Click on it. Its default set to "All types". Please select the kind of thing that you want to download, by clicking the right button there. For example, if you want to download music, click on the "Audio" button. And fill in the fields for which dialog boxes have been provided. Like, for example, the title of the song and, if you know the artist, the name of the Artist, or the name of the Album, etc. and click on the button below "Search".
In the right hand panel, you'll see the results begin to fill the page with what it finds. Select the one you want to download and right click on that. In the right click menu, click on "Download" and your download will begin in the panel below that.
If you don't know the title, and would just like to see what's available, go to the dialog box with "genre" and click on the arrow pointing downwards. It'll open a drop down menu with all the genres of music a to z. Select a genre and click on "Search" From the titles that fill the page, select the song you like and do the right click and "download".
In the same way, you have the option of "type" in the video, or movie section that you can go to by clicking on the "Video" button.
In programs, you have the option of "Platforms" and in Images and Documents, you have the options of "Licence types".
At the bottom there, you'll see another folder tab reading "What's new?" click on this and check out all the things that have been newly added to the Net.
There's really a plethora of stuff that you can download with Limewire; but you'll need to be patient because the porn pimps have really loaded a lot of stuff over there. Where haven't they loaded their stuff? You'll need to wade through a lot of the crap.
But then, once you get used to it, you'll be happy you got Limewire!

have you followed the instructions properly I had to install Java before I got Limewire

click to open not save to computer and download the free version u will have to follow the prompts to insure u r doing everything right.Also,make sure you r firewall (if you have one ) is allowing the program >that'll be $45.00 LOL

Dont bother with it .... get winmx music....a lot better and No spywear.!
