Yes. I think he should be punished for what he did, and i even think FIFA shouldn´t have given him the MAN-OF-THE-MATCH award, because doesn´t deserved that. Matarazzi should be ashamed of himself. Know what? Some websites have created the Zidane´s head-butt game, and was written "hit him more severely and get the points." Actually what i have heard in my whole life is "the winner takes it all." But this time it proved to be wrong. Zidane got more respect than any other Italian player.

Thanks!

I'll be the first to say, "NO!". First of all, he already got his punishment- I dont think Zidane is exactly weak. Also, on the field, it's a mental battle as well as a physical one- insults are flying everywhere. If Zidane is as great as everyone says he is, he should have enough self control not to physically attack another player in such an obvious way in the final match of his career, not to mention the final match of the World Cup. I don't think either player can be blamed, because, as I said, everyone insults the opponents, and also, Zidane must've been frustrated especially since he had just his header blocked. I'm fairly sure he was also tired and under stressed, so he overreacted, and shouldn't have. He deserved what he got, and Materazzi deserved what he got. As a response to the person who said that he shouldn't have gotten man of the match, the viewers vote on the player who they believe was the most influential throughout the game. Consider that Materazzi scored the goal that leveled the game, and he managed to get the other team's leader and a great penalty taker sent off, and you should understand why he was voted the man of the match.

Although I was cheering for Italy, I think Materazzi should be punished, there was no excuse for saying what he said to Zidane
