If you had specified base 2.. then it would have been:
1 + 1 = 10 (base 2)

for any base larger than 2 the answer is:

1 + 1 = 2

Since you do not say what the base is.. I must assume that it is base 10, which is our standard.. so 1 + 1 = 2

I'm sure this must be a nasty 1, bursting with decimals behind it. You were right to ask this question you know: this 1 intends to trick humanity in believing it is innocent looking. Yeah, man, this world is a nasty place: this 1 is actually 1.999999999.... it's just that you don't see the .99999999999...

therefore, 1+1= 4.
for extremely large values of 1.

That would depend on if you're adding actual integers (numbers since you're asking this question you probably are unfamiliar with mathematic terminology.) or things. If it's integers and a simple math problem you can figure this out yourself. (give a man a fish vs teach him to fish ya know?) On your computer, press the start button, click on programs, click on accessories and then click on calculator. Enter the problem into the calculator and you'll see the answer is 2. Please try doing this the next time you have a simple math problem to solve BEFORE you waste our time here junior. The best part is, I bet you thought that this was a really witty question to ask and we'd all be laughing. You're right but it's not for the reason you intended jacka$$.
