go to www.divix.com download the divix player and install it.
From there you will see the program pop up with a CD on the side that says insert disc. Open the folder that has the movie in it and instead of double-clicking the movie so it will play, just drag it onto the CD. It will show how much of the DVD/CD is used/Free and you just click burn.

Easy as that!

As a few others have said, use nero. Nero will convert and burn your vcd, dvd in one process, you can download the demos here http://www.nero.com/eng/Downloads.html and you can probably get a serial from emule or another filesharing program, if you haven't got one, download emule here - www.emule-project.net once you have the correct serial you will have full use of the software. Alternatively, just download a cracked version off emule. Once you have burned your film/s it/they will work in your dvd player.
