im wondering what they feel like. i tend to get kinda sweaty at night and usually use a good cotton sheet set. i was wondering if sateen will make me sweat more. does anyone have any insights?

I think sateen could be less absorbent. Some of those synthetic fabrics they use go horrible and get all bobbly after a short while, till it's like sleeping in sandpaper. If you are determined to have sateen sheets I'd say go for the 100% cotton ones. If it was me I'd get 250-300 thread count full cotton sheets (non-sateen) because they feel very smooth and luxurious without the disadvantages of satin.

Instead of sateen, go for more cotton, more thread count, Eygptian cotton is nice to for sleeping. Sateen will stick to you. Sateen is more for looks, special occasions, special people, if you catch my comment correctly. Just for giggles, go by the linens department or a store where they specializein linens and take the touch feel test yourself. You'll like the higher thread count on cotton better! Good Wishes.
