Yes! Indeed, I am sick and tired of all unsportsmanlike behavior among players of all sports. I think that any sport figure who can't play fair and honest, and take whatever sanction is dealt to him/her, they should be barred from the game for life on grounds of unsportsmanlike behavior. Period.

It is not so much whining as it is being hopeful and/or trying to save face. If you accept, then you will seem even more guilty, and these guys want to keep every fan they can at a hard time like this. Sometimes, though, like in this case, they think they're too good and then screw up. But, because they are so confident in themselves, they will challenge it as far as they can because they cannot accept defeat. As to the person who said Italy should be stripped of their World Cup, "Why?" Those involved in the scandal were involved inside Italy, had gone against Italian rules, and the blame is on the clubs really. Serie A and FIFA are different, and although FIFA sets rules that must be followed by all national and internation leagues if they wish to be recognized, they are allowed to create seperate laws and when a club breaks one of those laws, then it has nothing to do with the players. It was the players, along with a different coaching staff, and a different managing staff, and different everything, who came and won the World Cup. None of those matches were fixed as far as we know, and they did nothing wrong during the competition. So, as long as they don't break any rules on FIFA territory or aren't in jail, they have every right to participate in the World Cup and be rewarded for their efforts, just like any other nation. Those players represented the nation of Italy, not a city or a private organization.

No. I am not sick of it. This is only the 3rd weekend in college football and the second in the NFL. Football is King, for better or worse. I get tired of hearing stories about teachers having sex with students, people being robbed, and how hot or cold the weather will be. When I want the weather I can go outside. I have just as good of chance to predict it as the forecasters do. The local news is important, but most of the local news where I am from is trivial. The real news is on cable channels which run 24/7. Try living in Texas where they even broadcast High School games. The newspaper has a section dedicated to sports. You don't have to read that section if you don't want to. Personally I don't like the classifieds, so I never read those..... ;)

I think it is brilliant that there is a governing body out there with balls enough to enact such a punishment.

It would never happen in this country (UK), especially when you consider the amount of shoulderless freaks incapable of bearing any accountability we have as leaders.

No I think we need to see a lot more of this sort of thing in sport.

Snooker and perhaps golf are two sports I have quite often seen excellent sportsmanship. Especially snooker, when a player commits a foul the ref did not see and immediately admits to it without prompting, eg illegally touching a ball with clothing etc.

I personally think the eyeties should also be stripped of the World Cup as had any of this kind of behaviour been proven before the competition then they might not have even been allowed to enter.

Cheating illegitimate swines.

I'm too busy working making a living for my family to really be concerned, but I agree with you. The guy signs a contract to not ride a f___ing motorcycle, then he rides one and gets hurt, then they still have to pay him 3 million dollars? It would have been cheaper for them to hire a hit man. I can't remember the guy, but that pissed me off. Also, I feel that these guys earn their money, don't get me wrong, but if they screw up, they should pay for it. Just like us average hard working people have to.

no because they are punishing the players for something that thier coaches, managers, etc. did and now the players have to suffer from it.
