The advantages are probably obvious to most of us...information, communication, as a tool for research or job purposes, entertainment, etc. The disadvantages are that sometimes you forget to talk to the people in your life; because you are busy on the computer...or talking to people you don't know instead...and sometimes having a computer can be very complicated or expensive when it goes wrong. It also provides a way to be anonymous and some people are "posers".
