Is it cheaper to go to a drama class at a regular college?

The reason I ask because I do not have any experience in front of the camera,or on stage. I really want to move to califorinia but I am lacking money. But I don't want to go to california with being trained experince. I will visit califorinia,and check their good acting class.

Is it cheaper to go to drama class at a regular college, it depends on the city. If you live in New York, it's expensive. If you live in Houston, it's cheaper.

You can get a degree in theater from a regular college, if that is your question.

You can take acting classes wherever you can afford it. What's important is that you get a good teacher.

Study acting in the city where you live, before you go to Calfornia.

You can call the YMCA or YWCA and ask if they have acting classes. They may be cheaper than at the colleges.

Call the community colleges in your city, and ask if the they teach acting.

Make some phone calls to find out the cost of acting classes in the city where you live. Try to meet with the acting teacher, to see if you like him or her.

California isn't that great. You don't want to be a rock stars song ala Poison, Skid Row, Guns & Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers. The worst thing to do is come to Ca. with no experience. You will be shot down, then become depressed and who knows what else will become of you. Go to your city college first to get it out of your blood or to get interested in something else or to get experience so you can transfer to a university with a good program.
