An unwinnable war against an abstract noun.
A war without end. By its nature it is unwinnable. It's like starting a war against "evil". How can it ever end?
I remember the good old days when wars used to be between countries. Life was much simpler then...

The War on Terror is a bit like the War on Drugs. It is not the kind of war you can win, but it is definitely the kind of war that seems worthwhile for about 50 years or so. Once in a while, our nation seizes upon causes that make it want to declare "war." The "terror" we are fighting refers mostly to the effects of the historic event, "9/11." When some terrorists really did some damage on American soil. However, terrorists have existed in the USA even before we attained the vaunted status of "nationhood." We only noticed in 2001 because we were so media-aware. Actually, I have been aware of terrorists since 1979, when I was aged eight.
My father dodged a paper bag in the street and i asked why. "It might be a bomb." Terror has been around long before that. So, the "war on terror" means "Don't be afraid, there are people out there trying to protect you." It's really not a war at all. The only reason they call it that is to get money for it that could be spent on better armor for our soldiers or something. We will win by attrition. We will make all the terrorists into nice people who don't want to terrorize any more, because they all have money, and we know how that produces docile, compliant personalities almost overnight. Honestly, look out for terrorists, but never be afraid of them. They want you to be afraid, and you are too cool for that. Way too cool.

The lefties are clueless
There is a clash of civilizations taking place currently led by a Religion which is Islam and a Political Philosophy directly decended from Adolf Hitler these are his progeny. The Mufti of Iraq in the 1940s led a movement to oust the English he sought Help and got it from Hitler. The Mufti was also SS and commanded a unit in Bosnia. In Iraq he helped found the Baathist Party which established itself in Iran, Iraq, and Syria. Iran managed to suppress the movement until 1979. All were one party states, like Germany and Russia. Islam was the vehicle to teach Fascist dogma through the Madras or religious school. This spawned the terror groups also. Nasser in Egypt sponsored Nazis as did other regimes such as Syria.
That is the reason for hate the Jew and the West. We are fighting to establish a Democracy so that oil rich despots won't enrich themselves at the expense of the people like Hugo Chavez , Fidel Castro, Saddam Hussein and The Iranian.
People who believe that the ends justify the means with out the rule of law because they are the law arbitrarily.
The Appeasement press and their fellow travelers on the left want you to believe that the war is arbitrary because of Bush Hatred and that their international bodies that accomplish little and demand much are being ignored. They should be because they were bought and paid for by Saddam and his Oil for Food Scam. The Left tells you it is George and Haliburton because they don't want you to comprehend the real deal. There were plenty of WMDs they did not want you to know about either
and did not want you to be informed about the Diplomatic Dance with Al Queda and Iraq prior to 9/11 that began with a non-aggression pact in 1993 remember Somilia?
We will win by aiding the Democratic movements in Iran and Syria and killing the terrorists because there is a critical mass out there.

You've hit it on the head. Like the "war on crime" and the "war on poverty" before it, we can't really wage war on an abstract concept. At best it's a technique for fighting which we can oppose groups that use it, but the technique will go on.
Without defined goals no war can be won, and in this case its more of a bumber sticker phrase than a policy.

War on terror is a tactic by the Bush administration to get people to have an enemy and hate them and its an excuse for going into war.
Why did we go into Iraq?
Cause were fighting terrorism.
But Iraq is been under sanction, they have no link to Al Qaeda, and Osama even said that Saddam is a bad muslim?
-We have to protect America...do you want another 9/11
Its a huge guilt trip....you know what im saying

It's about terminating the ones who don't agree or don't act or don't think your way... It's the worst type of fascism; it's about infringing on others basic rights; freedom, the right to live, the right to be different...
I forgot... I believe you are aware of the fact the the attacks on the World Trade Center were an "inside job". It was the reason to initiate the war against everyone.

Its a way to create fear among the masses, because a fearful populace doesn't ask questions. This allows the government to carrier out their aspirations of world domination, while pretending to protect us from the "evil-doers".
Questioning the powers that be wont allow them to hide behind the flag while they do their dirty work.
You can defeat an emotion, which is what terror is. But you can use it to distract people from the REAL evil doers. Namely George, Dick, Karl, Bill, Tom,etc.........
