Oh I think it did!! I think if it wasn't for that unfortunate send off, the players wouldn't have been so upset and Zidane would definitely have been able to show case his final talent here which everyone was expecting him to do so that incident really hurt the team imo. But to be fair to the team France played really great, they really had a great chance of winning and honestly thought they deserved it more than Italy in this championship, simply because they played a bit better but Italy did fantastic at scoring those goals at penalty shoot outs, they were confident and I had a strong feeling that they would get it in the end and they did but I felt very sad for France. Did anyone notice a few players after receiving the silver medal, some of them removed it immediately after they left the stage, which makes the entire world cup really sad sometimes and I really blame Materazzi for that!!
