If he committed suicide, tell her this. If god can forgive him, so can we. Tell her to call you when she just needs to change her mood, listen well. No one can erase the pain, but if he was terminally ill, tell her that he is out of his pain, and you will be together again in heaven someday. It doesn't matter how religious she is, but it will give her something positive to hang on to.
