No, but tact is ALWAYS a good idea (especially when no harm has been done).

Well, Frank, I really don't think you should worry about your name so much. You can't help what your parents named you. If people don't like you because of your name, that's their problem. So, keep being Frank.

Don't be too tough on yourself. It's very smart to keep a little bit of mystery with what you think. Not everyone has to know your thoughts.
But remember real friends don't juge you for who you are.
You should change your environment. And learn to be cautious with delicate "porcelaine". If you break the dishes, it will teach you for next time the best way to react. It's no big deal.
Try to stay honnest with yourself, stay franck and don't change too much. People who don't appreciate your sincerity should change from Planete Earth. Venus or Mars are not so bad...

That's funny, I've been told that I'm "blunt." I think they would mean the same thing. It is a lack of tact. Saying the wrong things to the wrong people. Saying what is on your mind with disregard for the other person's feelings or opinion.

i think being frank & honest is admirable there are too many two-faced backstabbers BUT it depends on how you say it use tact and some respect if you're unable to say something nice then try and keep it to yourself

No, it's not bad at all. Just say whatever you truly think and don't worry about it. To hell with people's feelings. And when you're sixty years old and have not one friend on the face of the planet, remember this question.

Great idea to be honest but don't want to alienate others. A friend treats others as they want to be treated. Just be yourself. When the foot enters the mouth. Be genuine and apologize. I've had to do that.

I don't think so...it's just how you go about making your point that makes all the difference.

I've spent my whole life being very outspoken, very direct, very blunt. I was often accused of being obnoxious and/or b****y. I am still very outspoken, very direct, and very blunt yet I'm not described by less-than-flattering adjectives as often anymore. It just comes out differently, I guess, but I still refuse to compromise myself just to be p.c.

there is frankness and there is rudeness.

Based on your question, some of your acquaintances think you have crossed the line.

believe it or not, you don't actually have to say everything you think.

Oh, probably. I get in trouble for it all the time too, but I feel it's the right thing to do, especially if people ask, I am not going to lie.
