We actually do cry. We're able to hold stuff in -except for when a soldier dies in a movie. It's macho to cry at dying soldiers. But, just so all women know.. we hide first, then cry. We go home and cry so hard. We cry in the garage. We cry in the shower. We call up our friends and cry together on the phone. Me and my friends cry very loudly and hug. That's what we're really up to.

I haven't seen Pearl Harbor, but there can only be two logical explanations for crying during it. The first is that you lived during World War II, and the movie brought back the whole experience to you. That's a completely acceptable reason to cry. The other logical reason to cry during Pearl Harbor is because you or someone you love paid money for you to see it...From what I hear (and from the fact that Ben Affleck was in it), it wasn't so good.

In Pearl Harbor's case, we weren't amebas in the sea of life when that horrific event went down. Pearl Harbor, during that time in history, was very very akin to 9/11. In fact, I think political brown-nosing and administrative war bungling on OUR part, led to it happening.....just like 9/11.
I saw Pearl Harbor BEFORE 9/11.....and was moved to tears because I saw a raw razor clear graphic of how tragic it was for our sailors over there to get literally cut into alive by Japanese plane gunfire----for NO reason whatsoever.
And we see the sailors trapped inside the Arizona, eventually ALL dying to their death by drowning.....and to this day, their bodies rest there. Such scenes rattle our cages.
Especially post-9/11: we relive the horror watching an equally tragic event that happened in our past. That's why eyes watching Pearl Harbor dampen with tears.

if they cried while watching it at the movies it was because of the price they paid to watch the garbage,, if it was watched at home, its because the person crying is wondering if getting into the other persons pants is really gonna be worth sitting thru that travesty called a movie....for selma hayek i'd watch the damned thing in klingon...lol
