forget it! these specs sounds like they're written 5 years ago. this laptop is old and pretty slow and has no warranty.
go for a new one. if you're looking for a cheap but still good laptop, Walwart is offering atm a pretty good Acer for only $498 those specs are better than those what Dell offers for its cheapest laptop for the same price.

Your question is difficult to answer. While the description seems to be decent, it all depends on what price you're paying for it.
I feel that this laptop is being "hyped" a bit because the description talks about "huge" and "giant" when referring to normal characteristics. The processor isn't the "fastest and greatest speed" as claimed.
If you get a chance to correspond with the seller ask about the size of the hard drive. today's laptops come with 60 gigabyte drives. Ask about the general condition of the machine.Ask how long the battery retains it's charge.
The Dell machine is generally well-made and reliable. Check their website to see whether or not a new one would be affordable to you. The advantages of having tech support, full warranty, etc are worth having.
Hope i've helped!!

1 ghz Pentium isn't that much that's not that fast, that's your processor by the way the more ghz the better and the higher the price, 256MB ram isn't giant, my computer has 3 gigs that's more giant but a good laptop should have at least 512, that is your memory. I am not sure how much twenty thousand megabytes are, that is hard drive space I would want at least a 40 gigabyte hard drive you can put lots of songs with that much hard drive space, the DVD-cdr sounds good but that wont let you burn you need one that says rw if you want to burn disk, wireless is standard I think for a laptop. I would shop around more, this laptop shouldn't cost to much, Ive seen ones with better specs. Go to Consumer Reports, they usually compare and will show best buys.

Depends on what you are looking for.
*The fastest Pentium M chips run around 2.5GHz, and some machines have dual-cores (two processors) both running at 1.5 to 2.5 GHz
*Most decent machines have at least 512mb ram, and the better ones have 1gb ram or more.
*Most recent computers have at least a 40gb Hard Drive, and many are 80, 100, 120+gb.
On the other hand, the C400 is meant to be ultramobile (i.e., the 3lb weight). For such a small computer, those specs aren't really all _that_ bad. You just have to decide whether you want to sacrifice performance for the light weight...because that computer is NOT going to be fast.

The anwser depends on your needs. What exactly will you be doing with the laptop. Mosyly for business software, heavy gaming, or intense multi media usage. There isn't really a one size fits all laptop. But my recommendation for any purchase is do some cross referencing and make sure you are getting the most bang for your buck. Don't hesitate to look at the refurb section at the Dell website if you are targeting that Latitude. You could save some extra cash while getting the security of a laptop with full warranties. I've had 2 latitudes in the past and they were good for office aps.

honestly im not going to lie to you. that is a piece of crap. first off dells are the worst computers to buy. secondly a 20MB hard drive can not run anything. even if it was 20GB you would still be very limited. i have a negative opinion towards Intel's because they just go for all out speed instead of a good processor. i would personally go and check out some HP laptops. and try to get an AMD processor and not an Intel. Honestly comparing the two, think of it like this...
Intel = fart pipe, has the noise, but no performance
AMD = Nascar Muffler, some noise, hell lotta performance.
Intel goes for speed (noise of the muffler) but it will take 200 of em to run the space station. AMD goes for performance. they dont have the speed of Intel processor, but it only takes one to run the space station.
again, try to get an HP with an AMD processor. if you need any more help just ask.

A good laptop would have the higher end mainstream parts in it.
You should look for:
An Intel "Core" Duo type processor.
At least 1GB or memory or RAM, I personally recommend 2GB if you have the money to upgrade.
A "dedicated" video card. (NOT Intel type graphics card, try ATI or NVIDIA)
A type of burner as your optical drive (cd/dvd).
A wireless network card.
At least a 80GB "SATA" hard drive. (Don't get ATA types)
Some type of widescreen display 17" minimum.

I surely have the acer aspire one, and that i imagine this is quite neat. the in basic terms difficulty that is ever afflicted me about this is the loud fan and shortage of a CDpersistent. except that, this is the proper little computing device to carry round everywhere. It even has an internet cam and microphone! :) P.S. i imagine the version between netbook and mini-computer is that netbooks are in basic terms used for the web and, nicely, mini-computer is notably self-explanatory. solid success inclusive of your procuring!
