Depends...are you asking the difference between a truth and a lie or are you asking about the distinction between the real and the un-real...there is a difference.

If something is the truth then it can be proven one way or another. If the thing is question is a lie then it either has no evidence to support it, or the facts proving contrary out weigh those of the lie.

Now, if you are asking about the real and un-real...I had a dream last night that me and my wife were trapped in a car under water. Needless to say this was ONLY a dream and was not at all real. It could not be physically touched, felt, smelled, or experienced in any other way by the WAKING senses. On the other hand, fire, a house, people, and even intangible things like love can be proven as real due to the fact that they can be experienced by a person, or multiple peoples in the physical world.

Hope that helps!

Also note that things that are real can be true, while things that are un-real can also be true. (You can have a dream that you are at your house. The house is real, and even the events in your dreams may be events you have lived through, but they are not real IN you dream..making them un-real.) However, lies, can be un-real, but can not be real.
