You can find a fantastic directory of hula halau in California at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hula-girls/links/Polynesian_Dance_Gro_001080982375/

The directory does list a couple halau in San Diego. I cannot vouch for their quality, as I'm not familiar with any of various halau in Southern California...but at least it's a start! Best of luck!
