I agree that we are losing some of our traditions. The whole idea of marriage is for procreation; maybe you can find a gay or lesbian who can do that without someone from the opposite sex assisting. Why is it so necessary that gays and lesbians are merged in marriage. I think that most members of our country would accept their merging using some other term, such as civil unions. Those that criticise this country have golden spoons in their mouths and are afraid someone (the government, I guess) will take away their spoons. I guess I need to remind you that it has already started -- its called taxes. If you are so concerned, volunteer to help those in need, or figure out a positive way to change the process. Then you become part of the solution, rather than the problem. Further your education, start a debating society where both sides can be considered. (This has already been started, its called Fox News.) It easy to lay blame, but its hard to work for solutions. There are two sides to every question, but the so-called rabble rousers can only disrupt, and try to deny people the chance to present their ideas. There are many ways to get change, but violence is not the way, or shouting down speakers. Thats why this forum is so great so at least the other side can be given, but you would probably ignore it .

Do not turn my aw some country into ..........? It is a good question and the reality hits home. Before I feel so strong about my free speech and believe me now I have to watch what I say,and whom I am talking to.The church and state are so close and tie to each other in my opinion.I have no problem about gay marriage and my state seem to be okay with them. But others may not agree and I can understand where are their upbringing.I love going to war but I am not sure how are we going to pay for .By the way I heard from the news about 500 billion will be pay the two wars' bill and we may not leave Iran until 2009.I do believe in the American's wisdom and the greatest of this land in which it will be saved,However,it is going to be challenge for you and me for a while.Think positive and use our commonsense and we will overcome our hardship.I hate to give the example such as outsourcing jobs oversee, interest rate goes up every 6 months and the Americans are still thursty for foreign oil.The real rich 2% did not pay taxes and the middle class like you and me has to pick up the tab.Every day my heart and soul feel for people who are fighting and dying every day that include my people and my enermy.Meanwhile, the problem in Africa and the civil war that 900 persons die every week.By the way,I have to be ready for the bird flu that the CDC predicted that it will reach U.S. soil the end of this year.Well I still has to add the global warmming that still deny by the majority of people in this country.I am so fear for my future generation. My eldest daughter is going to college and she says to me " I will be good because, everyone wants my job and that include people around the world."Thank you for asking this question and it really keep me on my toe.No matter what is going to be I will be strong and use my will power to fight what is right for my country.

the real question to ask is what is freedom? everyone has the right to say im muslim and proud of it, at least in america. try saying it in some other country (cant think of one right now) and you get thrown in jail. or on the flip side, here in america women can wear whatever they want but go to an islamic state and try wearing next to nothing as a woman. unfortunatly we dont teach tolarence in america. we shouldnt treat a muslim as "that muslim" but as that guy over there. we take our freedoms for granted and we only notice them when they are gone. stop and look around, be thankful for everything. the fact that you can get paid well for a hardworking job instead of getting paid the same no matter if you worked as a busdriver or a soldier.

Nice rant, but you're way off center. Anyone can take one or two examples (out of literally millions in history) and make a simple minded argument, but it doesn't hold water. This country still has the ideals and ideas that made it great at it's inception.......example being.....this question. The right to provoke thought and question the "norm" is alive and well in the USA. Just like the American stock market, an adjustment is in the offing. The simple reply to your "question" is..watch and see. Great things are coming soon...the next election will prove it!

Don't blame everything on Conservatives and religious people. It's liberals who oppose free speech just mentioning you are Republican or conservative in a college class or that you don't agree with the liberal lies spewed by the professor and you are accused of being politically incorrect and told to shut up. Tell someone you don't like illegal immigration and libs call you racist. Say you don't believe in global warming and you get attacked and called blind and stupid by people who don't have one fact to back up their argument it's getting ridiculous. And I think it is often how you say you are against the war. If you call people that support the war idiots and a$$holes then your going to get bit back. If just admitting you don't support the war makes some think it lowers morale then they have little faith in American resolve and character and resilience. I could go on but I've said enough for now.

Dude, have you ever even been to America? You don't sound like you know anything about this country. I think you have been reading some very inaccurate newspapers or talking to some very uninformed people. Maybe you should buy a plane ticket and come here for a couple months to see what this country is really like.

I don't agree with you.

Protecting and fighting for what we love is exactly what this government is trying to do. That means personal sacrifice for the greater good.
