Although we are inherently violent creatures, I believe most would be anti-war as it can only lead to self destruction of the self and the culture as a whole.

So that's a big no vote - I am against war in general.

There can be self-defense arguments that I understand and even agree with, if one is attacked/invaded...but in general I believe that war/killing is wrong.

War is generally for the morally weak leaders, those who cannot figure out how to resolve a dispute through negotiation, or are incapable of admitting they may be in the wrong.

It does not take any courage to send young men and women to war to fight over some issue. It does take (moral) courage to do the morally correct thing. Often the morally correct thing is unpopular or uncomfortable or unprofitable (treat the other side as real people with rights, admit that your actions or policies may be a cause of the conflict, admit that the natural resource you want access to is not yours).

War should be truly made illegal by international treaties (the UN was supposed to have made wars nearly impossible) with the people responsible for starting the war (national leaders or terrorist leaders) held accountable.

Wars are a waste of money, resources and lives. They ruin lives directly and indirectly (whether a family member is killed or whether economies and health care fail).

Unfortunately, such a utopia probably will never exist in my lifetime.

War in general? I'm against. If people (and thereby our governments) really wanted to avoid war, most problems can be resolved through honesty, communication, cooperation, and compromise. Unfortunately, human nature dictates that people (and thereby governments) are too often deceitful, evasive, selfish, and unbending, and so they ignorantly and childishly do things to provoke each other. Too bad the ones causing trouble can't be put on a really big time out and forced to resolve things properly. :)

In general I am against war, but I will defend.

It is like asking for health, do I want treatment or can my body heal itself?

The Iraq War only,Not enough proof, spreading our forces to thin, it really is about controling oil, simialr to vietnam war.
That region will never be stable, has been unstable for centuries, foolish of the American government to think that it will get stable in a few short years..despite the past attempts to have it stable.

Against.

I am against killing and violence for any reason. I believe that people should strive to understand and respect each other, and learn about each other's cultures, to help avoid misunderstandings. I believe that there is a nonviolent solution for every problem.

Do I think this is ever going to happen? No. Not enough people believe this way, and children in many cultures are raised to believe that their way is the only way, and violence is the only solution. American culture is one of the worst offenders.

The question is a little 'general', but here it goes.
On principle, I am against war.
But I would RABIDLY defend my country .
I STRONGLY disagree with the US attitude that they are the 'world's cops'.
Mark my words...The US is in for a rude awakining and a VERY tough time ahead.
The sooner that 'shrub' (Bush junior) is out of the picture, the better.
I mean seriously, americans, do you really want that idiot representing your country?

Against. My bible says Thou shalt not kill. We have so many people fighting and getting killed every day for our country. I have the up most respect for the military. But if everybody, everywhere took one verse out of the bible and truly lived by it there would not be any fighting------anywhere. Jesus said TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER!!!!
