The flag is displayed outside our home everyday. The majority of neighbors are the same. Some also fly the POW/MIA flag also. I am much in agreement with the other person who suggested not littering. We live in such a beautiful country but such ugly litter no matter where you go. I participate in Adopt a Highway Program.

First understand and appreciate that the US isn't perfect or totally fair, but RELATIVE to other countries, we enjoy daily freedom and with it, an opportunity to improve on ourselves and our country.
One active way to show patriotism is to exercise your freedom of speech by sharing your opinions in a constructive way that contributes to the wellbeing and equality of yourself and other US citizens.
This can mean anything from waving a flag and saying "God Bless America" in a parade, to respectfully protesting a perceived inequity or lobbying for a particular cause.

I think those are emotional feelings and those particular ones are dangerous and strictly for bone-heads. The Nazis were EXTREMELY patriotic and nationalistic. We all know how that ended. Try to think globally and that no country is any more valid than any other. We are all people of Earth. I hate flag waving.

By protecting your country's citizens from any forces which seek to impair their rights and freedoms, even if that force happens to be their own government, and by upholding the ideals that your nation was founded upon.

Proud Aussies like myself may do things such as only buying food and products made in Australia and by Australia, not stuff made in other countries. Support your own country, right. Marry your own people.
If you're one of those fundamentalist muslims you'd probably blow stuff up. (I hope you're not and I hope you don't do the latter cos that aint pride, that's stupid).
