Hello. So I got invited to go paintballing by a bunch of guy friends. But I have no idea what to do! I can't wait but at the same time I have no clue!? Like how much is it to buy a gun, can I just rent it? And I know you wear a mask, but do they give you like a jumpsuit at the park or anything. And DOES IT HURT TO A POINT to where I will injure myself? How much is it, for going and the stuff? Are there just mostly guys that do this, will I stand out too much? And what do you do, like is it teams, or capture the flag, what different variations? How do you get out? Is there a certain amount of times you get shot? Ahh! I'm sorry if all these questions are really stupid but I really have no idea, and I don't want to be the annoying ditzy tag along chick who's taking the fun out of it cuz she has no idea what she's doing... Thank you..

Ok, here is from a long time paintballer (1989).
It does hurt but nothing you can't stand. Kinda like getting snapped with a towel or stung by a bee, but it goes away quicker. It will stop hurting by the time you walk off the field.
Equipment should be available for rent at the field and you should figgure about $50 - $75 dollars for the day. I would reccomend wearing a t-shirt and a long sleeved sweatshirt on top. (I usually just wear the t-shirt). I would wear shorts and over them some old jeans. They might have a jumpsuit to put over but don't count on it. Wear old things just in case. Ask your friends for more info about where you are going. Indoors wear black or dark. Outdoors wear dark green, dark brown, or black.
If this isn't an official field ask if they(your friends) are loaning you equipment and camaflage.
If not then ask one to help you get equipment. If they have been playing a while then they should know what all you need. It can run from about $250 - $2000 depending on the equipment. Yes it can be quite expensive.
The game is played different everywhere. Sometimes capture the flag with 1, 2, or numerous flags. Sometimes it is simple elimination(get rid of everyone on the other team). Sometimes any hit counts, sometimes only like a torso shot counts. I have played freeze tag where if you are hit and a friend can touch you you are back in.
Reguardless, it is fun and you may really enjoy it. I have played with and against female players numerous times and there are even several GOOD all girl teams. Go out and just try it. If you don't enjoy it at least you can say you did it.
Final thing:
PLAY SAFE keep your mask on at ALL times.

buying a gun = ~300 + all the other accessories needed... Not worth it for your first time.
Yes you can most likely rent a gun at the field you are going to...plan on like 30$ for the day.
They will give you a mask with your gun rental.
I would wear clothes that you can get dirty in, perhaps tear up a little bit as you will be crawling on the ground etc...and of course, the paint is non toxic and washes out if washed that day.
Yes, it feels like a bee sting..It will leave a bruise for a few days...be ready, maybe have a friend tag u first before the game so u arent nervous as you go out.
Ive seen more guys than girls, however there are some core chicks out there who do it up...you will see a few.
There are usually 2 teams, ive only played capture the flag style, there is also speed ball, which is in a real small arena, and goes until the last man is shot.
When you are shot, you will raise your gun above your head, put in a barrel plug, that shows you arent going to shoot, walk to the edge of the arena, and walk out.
Not stupid questions, have fun, be safe, wash your face after wearing the mask, lots of sweat.....take care

Been there done that.
I was invited to a birthday party. I was friends with the guy of course. I asked for a couple of other girlfriends to be invited along. There were three girls.
We demanded to stick together. No guy wanted to be on our team. See? There were about 5 per team. Who'd want to be on our team? So we finally figured out the groups. Us stil sticking together. We got our outfits on and well all that usual trouble. It's quite dirty. And it's not as thick as I thought.
We did it three times. The first, us three just sat behind the bush. Scared like heck. The second time we decided to be more courageous,. We took more shots. And I actually ran all over shooting strong. :) But I got shot a lot. About five times. I was blind because the helmet was covered with paint. I had been shot a few times but somehow I was okay. I got shot in the chest and it was at that time I noticed. One of my friends got shot on the thigh. And a HUGE bruise was created. Apparently it hurt like HELL.
Don't worry. Just go out and do your best. Have fun. If you go strong, then you won't be seen as teh scared, girly, annoyig girl just taking the fun out of the thrill. If you're scared and stay back, then it won't be fun for you or others but you won't get hit so much. So it's up to you.

You can rent a gun & helmet (u might want your own helmet). You won't get a jumpsuit, come dressed to play. It will hurt some but not to the point of injury (follow safety precautions). But you will most likely get some welts or bruises. Yeah, there's a lot guys but you can do it. There are females who have gone pro. Don't worry about sticking out. They'll think you're cool just for going with them.

ill tell you the truth the guys wanna see how tough you are no usually they dont give you a jump suit you need to wear thick clothes that day (dress in layers like sweat shirts pants jeans
yes at some places you can rent gunsmost places you need your own gun but they sell you their balls to use guns range in price due to the distance and straitness of the shot
it can be really fun but at the same time the balls hurt when you get hit im a muscley guy but every time it play and get hit it leaves a really nice bruse about the size of a nickle but they go away in two days or so oh yeah make sure when you play that you tell the guys one of your rules is no spray painting meaning that they cant hold down the trigger when shooting at you and send alot of balls (6 or more )at a time at you trust me i played that way once and had a bruse the size of a pancake on my stomach all and all just have fun and hang in there

Hide in the back and shoot for a few games. When you get more confident you can charge up and be more offensive. Once you get shot you raise your hands and walk off so they don't think you're still "alive." Getting hit stings a bit, but you will only have welts. Don't wear your favorite clothes, you could get them stained or even get a hole from being shot. Shoes will get messy too. My sister played and loved it. She went back the next week.
They will announce what kind of game before you start , elimination or capture flag.

Sounds fun, guys don't usually let you in on their fun, the guys in our cliche always went and never invited girls they are so into the male paint balling experience.
Boys sure love any sport with balls.
yes it hurts and you can get big red welts on your skin.
