Their problems are mainly due to poor diet and excessive alcohol intake. The biggest mistake the Australian Government ever made was to attempt to indoctrinate the Aborigines into the white mans' way of life as they are simply incompatible. They would have been better of left to their own way of life as their health problems continue to plague them due to foods which they are mainly "junk" The culture of the Aborigines provides for their survival in the bush where they know where and how to find the foods that they are used to and also the different plants which provide them with the medicines which they take for various sicknesses. They are survivors in the bush and not meant to live in a mad rat race society which is for the better part far beyond their capacity to adapt. The Abo's have survived comfortably for thousands of years without the white man and they were better off left to themselves as they can find food and water in a desert where a white man would not survive for more than a day. It is my firm belief that their life span has shortened due to their exposure to alcohol and foods which seem to be not in the interest of their health. They have little or no hygiene, their infant mortality rate is very high and in the main they appear malnourished which brings about all manner of sickness.
