There have been rumours that Hitler was one-quarter Jewish and that his paternal grandmother, Maria Schicklgruber, had become pregnant after working as a servant in a Jewish household in Graz. During the 1920s, the implications of these rumours along with his known family history were politically explosive, especially for the proponent of a racist ideology. Opponents tried to prove that Hitler, the leader of the anti-Semitic Nazi Party, had Jewish or Czech ancestors. Although these rumours were never confirmed, for Hitler they were reason enough to conceal his origins. Soviet propaganda insisted Hitler was a Jew, though more modern research tends to diminish the probability that he had Jewish ancestors.

I can't remember, without digging out a bunch books that are packed away, but someone in Hitler's direct line of decent was illegitimate. The father was a member of, or connected to, the family that employed the mother as a servant in a large manner house. Exactly who it was that fathered the bastard child was never named, but there was reason to believe he was Jewish. Throughout his reign as dictator, Hitler secretly worried that this was true, and would somehow be found out.
It has never been proved that Hitler had Jewish blood, but, when investigators uncovered the above story, the rumor started and has been lent more and more credence until it's now often reported as truth.

No, Hitler was Austrian. The paradox is that he then lead Germany to invade Austria. Also he loved people who looked "Aryan" (white skin, blond hair) and hoped to create a perfect race when in fact he was a short man with dark hair.

I heard in high school history class that he was one quarter Jew. I don't think he hated nor loved that 'part' on himself. I don't think he cared or gave it consideration. I think he was drunk on his power, and simply thought of himself in whatever way egotistical dictators do, as a savior, a god, power incarnate, whatever they were prior to this ascendency is irrelevant to them. Or rather, they are selective how they choose to think about himself. Hitler may have known he was part Jewish, but thought of himself as fully German.
