parfume and eau de toillete at diffrent levels of scent all perfumes and colognes and parfumes start out as a oil and the more cutting agent is added the lighter the scent gets and then you get your perfumes and parfums and eau de toilletes and colognes a misconception that people don't know is that cologne is actually a level of perfume making that just happened to get mixed into being just a man thing and there isn't really a such thing as a knock off all perfumes are made the same with the same essential oils and scents the only thing that makes a knock off a knock off is the fact that name brand is not on the bottle instead its says our version or whatever and they cut it just a little more then the stuff that does have the name brand thats why have the time you really can't tell the diffrence in the scents only the lightness or the lasting time once the name is put on the bottle like Calvin Klein or something the price sky rockets

The levels of scent (not alcohol!) concentration are indicated by these words. Going from strongest (and most expensive) to the weakest: parfum/perfume, then eau de parfum, then cologne, then eau de toilette, then toilette water. You'll be going from little bottles to larger ones. I don't think these are official (as in government regulated), just the common usage.

Par fume is a stronger smell, and I think be worn at night. Toilette Water as it is also called, is a lighter frangence of the perfume, which would be worn during the day.
My opinion, and the other one who answered, since she has a home based business would seem to know more.
Hope this helps some, and have a nice night.

Higher concentration for par fume..on theory last abt 8-10 hours.(depend on the temp of your environment and maybe body temp too)...and...yeah...lower for eau de toillette...6-8 hours... FYI. guys' fragance are usually eau de toillette...and ladies have par fume and eau de toilette (for the same frangance).

The alcohol content. Perfume has a higher alcohol content than eau de toilette. But using perfume as a bar supplement is a bad idea.

I think parfume is stronger. Eau de toilette tends to be lighter.

Eau de toilette is generally lighter and less expensive, but where I work we pretty much call them different things interchangably.

the answer used to be with the base ingredient
though im not sure this is true anymore

perfume was oil or alcohol based
and the other was water based or very light alcohol base
perfume was also supposed to be a stronger scent.
