I'd like to retire at 60 and live modestly and comfortably in a cozy cabin in the woods, near a lake or the ocean.
I would also like to bring world peace, buy the world a puppy and win the lotto tomorrow.

I am almost 50.
I can tell you now, start saving because there will not be a social security for any one currently under 30.

My parents and grandparents had it ok with Social Security but people my age and under are going to have to work till we die.
Most of us with no health insurance either.

I have worked since I was 15. If I continue to work till I am 72, I can get a social security check for $637.00 a month!

I hope I croak before I'm too old to work.

Thought about retiring; but will probably never retire until one way ticket out of earth.

Start enjoying whatever you are doing like you are retired and doing something you always want to. Maybe a career switch if you think you are not enjoying.

No one ever does one thing a week. We always do few things a week, going to the office for the salary, attending church, doing church work, doing the garden, etc. Enjoy all these things as you would when you retired.

The closer I get to retirement, the less I am looking forward to it. I plan on keeping myself busy along with my husband. I will cook alot, continue to care for my pets, and maybe even have a really big veggie garden , and some laying hens, and share my wealth with friends and strangers alike. I want to live out the rest of my life just making folks happy, or caring for someone who needs it, just being a friend, and hoping to be a positive person in the lives around me.

Well, I'd love to retire right now, but my finances won't allow it.

I'll retire at 62, which is the first age I can start getting social security benefits. Of course, by "retire", I just mean I'll start drawing social security. I'm going to keep working, keep active.

I'm gonna retire when I have enough money too. And when I do, I'm gonna sell my house, buy a big luxurious motor home, and travel the continent! Sounds like fun, huh? But it kind of kills the cliche "settle down". lol.
