I love it. Religions just pick and choose what they want to believe and they cant stand it when people have logical arguments against them. The hate will eventually die off and people will accept others for who they are. We better enjoy the misguided biggots while we still can!

Of course you are right. When any group starts to refuse to be oppressed it always galls the oppressor. This happened in the black civil rights movement, women's movements at the turn of the century and the list goes on and on. The result is always the same grudging acceptance.

I occasionally answer questions -- thoughtfully -- that come up in the section and that I see elsewhere. I post very, very few questions however.

I believe that the hatred will die off -- and I certainly believe that the Right wing of the faith community is badly misled -- but I normally respect their privacy far more than they respect ours and I'm a firm and fairly knowledgeable member of the Religious Left, who believes that the Religious Right are completely misguided.

I for one refuse to pick fights. Yes, a few individuals come here and do the same thing, but frankly that bothers me everytime I see it. I see no reason to go in and bother other people (especially all those who are happy to keep their beliefs to themselves) just for kicks.
If someone wants to have a REAL dialogue, with no name-calling or other immaturities, I'd be happy to do that in the proper forum, but you really just don't see that too often.

It's great to wind people up! However you have to realise that by going into 'their section' and deliberately winding them up makes you as bad as them coming into this section and 'winding' people up in here. There is nothing wrong with a bit of healthy debate, but when it becomes petty and sniping then it kind of cheapens your argument and makes you look the loser. That really applies to anyone, in my experience.

on behalf of my faith, hey.
we're not all biggots. i agree that christians need to stop hating eachother.
as a lesbian christian i do get static sometimes. but you lumping us all into a "biggot" catagory is no better than them lumping me into a "f@ggot" catagory.
