Wow, you weren't just kidding ADHD. First invite one or two friends not from work, then mention it during break time, lunch or whatever that you're having people over. Be flexible though, the monopoly thing sounds fun, but I personally hate monopoly so it's not for everyone ( although I've never played it with shots) Let them know that its BYOB, unless you're footing the bill in which case I'm sure everyone from you're office will defiantly show up . Mostly though don't try too hard, be casual about it, like you could care less if people showed up or not.

Just say you want to have some people over from the office and ask them to come. Say your gonna play monopoly with beer shots. I'd prefer vodka but hey sounds fun to me! You could send them an email if you want to. If your going to order pizza or something tell them that too. Or have everyone bring a snack (or beer!).

just tell them there will be lots of beer at this place and im sure they will show up. i host a poker home game and all i had to do was post online and i have a group of people that play all the time and give there money away to me. just asking can be the best way to find out how they feel if they are excited as you are about monopoly then finding players should be eazy...

Try this idea: count the total of ALL office employees. Buy additional game pieces and put them in written invites to your place for such a party. Ask each one to bring a gift NO MORE than $20 in value.....for the game to get interesting.
Also, have the munchie food and soft drinks on hand, otherwise, it's a BYOB event. Some will bring enough alcohol for others to enjoy....so it's still a fun event.
Each gift gets put in a area, and attached to each one is a "property" card. Each player gets a roll around the board and where their piece lands on, they pick such a "prize". Rules apply if they go double (only if enough people attend for such to be in place)
After each one has landed on the board ONCE, then the starting player rolls the dice. If he lands on a property or utility card, he or she has the chance to "steal" that gift, putting the "stolen" gift's property card on their ORIGINALLY picked gift.
It's a rough sketch idea, but if it goes smooth, all will take home a cool gift---and have some fun at YOUR house playing the game.....and it might make you a cool guy (one that gets laid, too: wink, wink).

Plan it out a head of time, say 2 weeks or so in advance, then just approach everyone with a small flier so they can remember it and see what they say. Or, you just approach them directly and ask them if it is something they would be interested in. If it is, you have guests, if not, then think of something else folks would like to do; barbecue, play volleyball, stuff like that. This is summer and people like to be outside. I don't care for Monopoly myself so I would decline. Trivial Pursuit is another story. Good luck!!

Simply find out if your co-workers enjoy monopoly, beer shots, and your apartment and if they show interest, move your lips to make out the words "wanna stop by my place and play monopoly with beer shots?"
it works every time :)

I think you just need to make it real casual, and do not especially exclude someone. As long as everyone is welcome, then you won't be committing a work taboo. Just say "who's free on Friday night for some beer and board games?" I'm sure there will be people interested. I love board games and beer!

You need more than beer! Buy some bar supplies and offer to make some mixed drinks.

You could send out an e-mail to everyone you want to come. Tell them exactly what you told us. Maybe ask everyone to bring a food item to make it more interesting.
