That's like telling you to wear underwear. What right does he have asking you to do that. I used to work in a law firm and the bosses didn't even wear them and they worked with the city.

I wear pantyhose every day, and it is not really required, except that I work on commission, and I am expected to look professional. It is not professional to be dressed up with heels and a skirt and bare legs.
What if men wore bare feet and sandals with their suits. Well for women to the same is just as ridiculous. I am sure if you are required to do so it is a nice air conditioned office. My office is air conditioned, as is my house and my car (even though I keep the top down). Summer heat does not enter into the equation. Even if I have to rush to my daughters soccer game, I don't whither and die in my pantyhose, They are a lot cooler than the tight jeans I see a lot of women running around in.
I know the panty part bothers a lot of women, so just wear stockings or hold ups.

If you don't want to wear pantyhose, wear hold-ups, stockings or knee highs. I don't know why women wear pantyhose anayway. What if the men came to work in a suit and tie and bare feet? What's the difference, sommer or winter? You have Air Condintioning don't you?
Its so cold here in summer with the A/C on, all the women have sweaters at their desks. Also, most cars and buses are air conditioned, so whats the problem? I wear stockings to work everyday, and do so without a dess code, because it looks much better, and is comfortable. They give a finished and sophisticated look, and besides it's trasahy to wear heels and office clothes with bare feet and legs. You may as well stand on the corner like the local hookers.

What would be cool is if you all get together and wear minis with the hose. Remember if pantyhose (most materials) are not worn under pants they can make you cooler! Usually with a high percentage of Lycra (feels better anyway) you get "wicking of moisture" from the skin and "evaporative cooling" due to moisture evaporation from the Lycra so don't think of it as impossible! You need air movement for to have this effect so move around. You WILL look more elegant and sophisticated in Pantyhose and with the right materials in the pantyhose you will be cooler so use the "rules" to your advantage!!!

I doubt your employer requires pantyhose. I am sure they require hosiery, just as mine does, and not only am I fine with that, I support it. It's just like if the men who probably wear a jacket and tie, left off their socks? Is that proper business attire?
I wear stockings to work, as do most of the younger girls. I prefer the kind that require a garter belt, but some wear the hold up type. Only the overweight and older women wear pantyhose in my office, yet we are all properly dressed with hosiery on our legs. Business clothes, and dress heels especially look cheap with bare legs, as do cocktail dresses etc.
Most of us don't live in Hollywood, the tackiest city in the universe, so why would we want to dress like we do.
And what about summer? My office is uncomfortably cold in summer because the air conditioning is set up for the men wearing jackets, most of us girls have sweaters at our desks to keep warm. I have air conditioning in my car, and my apartment, so how does the heat factor come in to play? If it does, smarten up and start wearing stockings, it will be like tossing off an extra pair of pants when you dump the pantyhose. Does your company do business at the beach?

I think it is right for women to wear hosiery to work, especially with heels, but no employer can tell you to wear pantyhose. You can wear Thai high hold ups, or stockings ans a garter belt like I do and it makes no difference. they just don't women coming in with bare legs, it is very unfinished ans sloppy. Especially with open shoes, nobody really wants to go around staring at some woman's toes.
I am in high school and work every day in a law office, and everyone there wears hosiery. The younger ones wear stockings like myself, and the older or overweight ladies wear pantyhose. Nobody goes around lifting their dresses to check what kind of hosiery they wear, as long as they have something on their legs. I think some of the older women that always wear pants and long skirts even wear knee highs.

I doubt you have to wear "pantyhose", I think any hosiery would due. I wear stockings and a garter belt, because I do not like pantyhose, and we have a "Hosiery" rule here, which I agree with. I am sure your office is air conditioned, so what does summer have to do with it. Our office is colder in summer than in winter because of the air, and most of us have sweaters at our desk.
By the way I am only 21, and the office manager of a large office, and have to enforce this rule, which I wholeheartedly believe in.
In a business atmosphere it looks stupid to have men in ties and jackets, and women sitting around half dressed. Bare legs and feet have no place in business, and personally, I don't want to look at some woman's ugly toes, even with her new pedicure. Feet should be covered, and no tan gives the finished look on women's legs like nylons.

It's a job. I think, while pantyhose are objectionable, it's better than being paid minimum wage or forced to do physical labor. Your boss probably sees this as a trivial matter that women shouldn't complain about; you could try presenting it to him casually and genially, and see if you can at least learn the reason for this requirement. Perhaps there was a problem with revealing dress in the past?

i'd particularly no longer placed on pantyhose yet for various causes than what many human beings are itemizing. i'm tall so it is totally puzzling to discover pantyhose that in the time of nice condition precise. What occurs is the crotch not in any respect continues to be placed and so the waistband also starts sliding down. If i do not periodically pull them up, then the full accurate element of the pantyhose will actually be on the point of the tops of my legs. the region is that i'm longer waisted than the common lady so the pantyhose are not designed for me. Getting sizes for heavy ladies gained't help because the tops nevertheless are not the perfect length for me and slide down.

I feel women should always wear pantyhose or stockings when they are dressed up. There is no excuse not to. All offices are air conditioned, in face most of the girls in my office have to wear sweaters, ans wear slacks to keep their legs warm because the sir conditioning is so cold. I looks sloppy and unprofessional with bare legs. If you don't like pantyhose you should at least wear thi highs or knee highs.

If you have to you have to. Can you wear a long skirt and knee highs to be cooler? Can you wear light weight pants that are dressy? It could be hot, but if that is the requirement. It is. I hope they have good air conditioning so people can tollerate it. I hope they let women take them off before they leave. I hope they let them wear shoes they can walk in if they are expected to stand or walk. Are men required to wear a long sleved shirt and tie in the summer to be fair? Might as well make all employees suffer the same to be fair.
People can wear nude ones that are not so nerdy like the fake tan ones of the past that look so stupid.
One of my friends threatened to quit if they did not let her wear the shoes she wanted. They wanted her, so they let her do what she wanted.
I hate panty hose. My aunt used to wear them with a garter belt beacuse it was not as sweaty. I am not sure they can really stop you from that.
