Do you find it flattering or disturbing?

For the record: I do have a stalker, and I find it flattering for the most part. Only because I’m not considered attractive by societal standards…I think it’s the long hair.

It all depends on how far they take it... I had a guy who im'd and called me pretty frequently, and I would jokingly say that he was my stalker, but it was never dangerous.

....but a girl I worked with had a creepy stalker that would call her while she was at work (alone!) and ask her really inappropriate questions and say scary things like he knew where she lived. We girls do not do well with that.

I HAD a stalker way back in my high school days. He would copy the styles of the few guys I dated as soon as he laid eyes on them. I dated this somewhat metal dude and my stalker started wearing chains on his wallet and wearing Pantera shirts... lol. Then somehow he got a hold of my phone number and started calling at 1 a.m. to see if I wanted to hang out. THEN he started showing up at my house early in the morning for the same reason. I set him straight one day by sort of being rude... He's since been a "saved" christian and then I saw him as a hippie with dreadlocks and patchouli stink a year or so ago... he still had that glimmer in his eye when he saw me. The fact that he was so infatuated with me was somewhat flattering... and in the exact same way disturbing... if that makes any sense. You've only had a few examples of his strangeness......................

I actually did have what I called a stalker for 3 months from January to May this year.

Now?

We're in a relationship. Heh.

How's that for irony? I think it's all about perception and sometimes, we can misread people completely in the wrong way. Her intentions were not coming from a bad place.

It is all proportionate to the mind of the stalker!...
Disturbed stalker = BAD!
Well-balanced, attractive stalker = Goody goody gumdrops
And still one has to be careful, in the event a good stalker goes crazy--uh-oh!

I did. It was my ex husband while our divorce was going through. Very disturbing. He used to drive around outside my work blasting "Maneater" by Hall N Oates and leave roses on my windshield, sit outside my apartment, call the police and tell them I was suicidal, follow me if I went anywhere, tried to tap my phone, cut the phone line, told my friends I hated them and talked badly about them behind their backs, and tried to hurt my cat. Very disturbing. He lives with a girl 10 years younger than him now-I pray every day she is ok.

I had one for about three years. He would call me off and on to curse me out and he had his friends follow me. This was over twenty years ago and until this day, although I think I know who is was I don't have any proof.

i dont know how to get rid of this woman. she still follows my life. shes like Kathy Bates in Misery or something. im a private person and dont like popularity contests or many people in my life.

ive moved across the country, changed my number and erased all social media. she still knows where i live. her mother is cia or something. i dont know how she finds out what i do. i tried living with friends 5 years ago and she would show up to the house through them. i cut off a lot of people because i dont like my exes in my life. they just want to ruin my life. its psychotic. i dont know where she lives or what she does and dont care. hopefully shes married or living in some other country happy somewhere. its really scaring me. how do you get rid fo someone without hurting them or killing them. i hate this person in my life and business but they dont get it!!! dont people have the right to be left alone without someone stalking them and judging them and criticizing them and talking about them? people are sick.
