buy what you can afford........just make sure you're getting enough speed (gH) and space (hard drive Gb) to accomodate larger programs. word is ok, but a free alternative is 'Open office.org' has all the bells and whistles. check it out. when moving to wireless, make sure your security is really bolted down. go to "GRC.COM/SECURITY NOW" episodes 3, 10, 11, 13 give MUST DO things.

Microsoft Office software--which Word is a part of--is generally sold separately, or you're charged extra for it.
A good wireless laptop for normal, everyday use is the Dell Inspiron 6000. It normally doesn't come with Word, but I'm sure you could find one someone that someone has loaded Microsoft Office on.

A good laptop is one which meets ur needs and that depends on what u r going to use it for.
Word is a software that u buy seperately and if u dont wanna buy then u can download a pirated version which is illegal.
u can also ask your friends if they have their disk and if u can borrow it.
or u can buy a refurb laptop which has word installed on it already.
