It seems that all I see one TV is dumb, slutty, promiscious and uneducated women.Like in Hollywood and in the Entertainment bussiness women always have to be sexual and brainless. I don't understand why a girl with brains or intellignece is underminded in American society.I'm not saying a women are like this. More women go to college but it seems like women are getting sumber by the second.

For the most part, I don't think so, but the problem is that certain ditzy half-dressed partygoers are taken seriously by a lot of girls as role models! It's one thing to laugh at/with their adventures, it's another for girls to believe that acting dumb is sexy and cool, and that being sexy and cool is everything.

Not that we should be promoting idiocy in men either, but I'm not so sure the dumb men in commercials are seen as an ideal to emulate.

Of course we also have a political climate that discourages critical thought and portrays universities as colonies of evil, un-American, terrorist-supporting, baby-eating communists, adding an "educated=bad" to entertainment's "dumb=fun".

We need to offer better role models than this, but unfortunately that probably won't happen in the entertainment industry anytime soon. While there are TV shows with smart, confident women as doctors, lawyers, the president (well, not anymore) and so on, those aren't what most teen girls are watching. Hopefully their generation will also absorb more positive influences from their own lives--mothers, teachers, mentors, etc.--and outgrow this trend!

The problem is that so many women truly HAVE become promiscuous- the proof is an the amounts of out-of-wedlock births, teenage pregnancies, etc. I blame this on the 1960s feminist movement- it destroyed the ideas of families and gave women the idea that they can raise children without a family. (Although they claim it encouraged working women, it really also gave the hint that women could easily raise a family by themselves- not possible.)

After many women began living by this standard, many children were born to single mothers- many of which live on welfare or on the baby's (or babies') child support. Their men-who also suffered from the feminist movement- have become less interested in their families and are more interested in screwing every woman that is willing to spread their legs. Do you see the pattern? Also, there is the fact of divorce- a common practice for women who marry hardworking men and then divorce them so that they can get half of his possessions and collect child support. I personally believe- in all honesty- that the easiest way to improve the view of women in society is to start encouraging family life, abstinence, and to put harsh restrictions on welfare. This way, no one would really be viewed as promiscuous or slutty.

-Also, since I failed to mention this above: When there is no work ethic in a society, there is little call for education. That is why drop-out rates never surprise me.

In our society? Perhaps that constitutes a majority opinion by a slim margin. As a Christian I think of women as gifted sisters who are created in God's image to be loved and cherished in all purity.

1 Timothy 5:1 Do not rebuke an older man but encourage him as you would a father. Treat younger men like brothers, 2 older women like mothers, younger women like sisters, in all purity.

As they say sex sells. We live in a society that is driven by money and if by having sexy, ditzy, half-dressed women plastered in every video, in every magazine, on every t.v show makes money then yes women are valued for being sexual. It is up to women to work on changing the image society has of us by refusing to comply to such antics.

gen 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

God punishes Eve, and all women after her, with the pains of childbirth and subjection to men. You can get away if you try.

The current trend is to show men as idiots lately on commercials. Start watching less Spike TV and more Oxygen channel.

There's a multitude of answers and all of them play a part: the party girl celebrities, women's desire for more attractive partners vs financially secure ones, the concept of the "ethical slut", of course outside of PBS, Sex sells.

Let's work together to fight victimization of women...
Do business with women who are self- employed...
