And if so, if you used a credit card, did they let someone else pay for it?

well see, i am currently in alabama. my car was towed front out front of my old house, which is under my moter in laws name but is being rented, so nobody told me it was towed. i have a friend willing to pick it up in california, but i have a friend here willing to pay for it since i cant afford it but they wont take her card over the phone, even if we show them a notarized addition to the car title which i was willing to put her on just so she could pay for it but they wont do it so now im stuck with no way to get my car out.

Any tow company in California should be fine with someone else using the credit card as long as the someone else is present with the credit card and identification.
