i have tattoos and i think that not all women should get them. its all about self expression... i find that most places arent attractive on women such as a sleeve on the arm but my opinion on that doesnt really matter if the person is happy with it. i actually dont like things that are common... i get tattoos as a symbol of something important in my life not as just a decoration of something i thought was "cool" at the time... to me it has to be meaningful

1) Age: Mid 20s. 2) Gender: Male. 3) Do you like tattoos: not usually, but there can be exceptions. Tattoos are an art form, and most tattoos are cheap art: they serve as bad conversation pieces with little aesthetic beauty or significance behind them. Once in a while, someone has an interesting or a beautiful one, though. 4) There isn't any reason to like tattoos on women any differently than tattoos on men, unless one's sexually attracted to them, which I'm not (actually, I tend to find women without ink more sexually attractive: tattoos (particularly when they cover a lot of real estate) effectively serve as clothing that one can never take off. 5) A 'tramp stamp' refers to a cultural trend where a woman sports a tattoo in the small of her back (and usually couples it with clothing that leaves it slightly exposed at all times) to signify sexuality. It's a common enough practice that it's rather silly to expect people not to assume that's what it means. To make an analogy, the idea that a ring made of precious metals and containing a diamond worn on the fourth finger of the left hand signifies one's being in a strong, exclusive relationship is also a cultural trend - but if I got offended if I wore a wedding band and people assumed it meant I was married, that would be silly in the same way.

I have 1 tattoo and it's on my lower back. An associate of mine who is a man calls it a tramp stamp. He says women who have tattoos there are tramps. Anyways, I feel that tattoos should mean something to the person getting them because they are pretty much permanent or cost a lot to get removed and the average joe doesn't have that type of money.
That's just me though. I think each person is different though. Before I got my tattoo, I picked out the design and thought about it for 2 years before actually doing it so that I could make sure this was something that I would still want.

I'm not ashamed to tell you this. My husband asked me on my 40th birthday what I wanted and I told him a tattoo. I have a neat little butterfly on my upper left arm. He then asked me what I wanted on my 50th birthday and I told him a tattoo. I have the neatest little rubber duckie on my ankle. I am a nurse, and one night all 7 of us nuirses were talking, and each of us had at least 2 or 3. I plan to get another one next week. If you want one and if it makes you feel good as mine did, go for it. P.S. I asked the tattoo artist if my husband could be next. He laughed and said, "No, he's not the type." I admit I am a little different, but I think a small, cute tattoo is cool. Now Cher, that's another story! Just remember, it takes all kinds to make up this crazy world.

I love it, I think its attractive and very expressive, they are an extention of who you are and really show your inner beauity and inner creativity, sometimes your inner spirit and what's inside your mind.
They are creative and beautiful.
Some people say that you can't be religious and have tattoos, but I am. I am a Christian, I go to church, I study the Bible and I have many tattoos. I even work in a tattoo shop. ( I have my opinion about Christian the anti-tattooing debate)
I have tattoos on my upper back, arms and ankles and while I am respectful with keeping my body covered, I don't go out of my way to cover them.
Personally, I can't stand lower back tattoos anymore. I work at a tattoo shop and even though tattoos work very well on that part of the body the trend has become so overwhelming that I wouldent get one there.
I think wrist tattoos are beautiful, and tattoos on the arms are aswell. I also love ribcage tattoos, and tattoos on the nape of the neck.
As for style, I think its all a matter of personality. I have tattoos of stars and cats. I love cats and people know me for that. People know me as a crazy-cat lady.
I have a tattoo on my wrist that is of a curly henna-like star that for months some people thought was fake. For years I drew designs on my hands and wrists in that style.
I have a cross on my back that is in the same style as the curly star.
I wouldent get tribal, because I think its too trendy.

Skanky tattoos look....skanky. If a woman has a butterfly or something feminine on her body that is not big and noticeable, then that is fine. A heart on the shoulder blades or a kitty on the ankle are cute. Creepy motorcycle chicks or dykes trying to send a message through big masculine tattoos are a joke and a turn off.

Our bodies are an open canvas, not all choose to get inked and that is ok. I think that something small and delicate is always nice. Its a matter of personal choice, I for one think tattoos are nice but only in moderation.

I don't really like tattoos on men or women...
if they had one though I would say small cute ones are nice... such as flowers and birdies on the ankle.

Tattoos on woman are VERY sexy to me. Anywhere it doesn't matter. Although its better if its meaning full and not some stupid flower or cartoon character.
