Tell them what it is about you that makes you the perfect or best candidate for the job. Emphasize past work experiences that you have had, education specific to the job, even any volunteer experiences that are appropriate.
Also, take advantage of the opportunity to ask THEM questions - not salary and benefits - at least not during your first interview. And look them in the eyes when speaking - keep your head up, and it you don't know what they mean by something, ask them to repeat or rephrase the question. Don't go off on an answer, only to find out that isn't what they meant.

Good things to include:
Self motivated, quick learner, team player, peolpe person, constantly looking for the most effeicent way to accomplish a task. I value family, respect, and friends would describe me as loyal, energetic and hard working in all aspects of my life
Even if these things aren't true you'll impress the hell out of your interviewer.Basicly tell them what you would want to hear if you were in their shoe like if your interviewing for a veternarians office, you're a animal lover, a fashion consultant:your a fashion enthusist. make sure to smile and use positve body language and eye contact you'll come off with confidence which is something every employer is looking for. Good Luck!!!

You're right, that would be very inappropriate-- to tell them how desperate you are for a job.

Tell them about the things you like to do, your strengths and weaknesses, your capabilities, a little bit of your family background, or simply something interesting about you that could make them think that you are fit for the position you are applying to. :)

How about searching your country's classified jobs listing and check the qualities needed by any employers?
Eg. -Can use MS Office -Creative -Can work under stress -Can multi-task -pleasant personality -good communication skills

Emphasise on your strengths and how you can contribute to the company.
You can search the internet on how to conduct yourself in an interview. :-)

You might want to add in some hobbies at the end. Like you play tennis and enjoy working on the computer. Something with athletics and computers always sounds good ;)

As a manager, I like to hear what your long / short term goals are, special accomplishments, civic groups/organizations you belong to, if any, These answers are 50% of your interview.

You talk about your background as far as it pertains to the job. I would touch lightly on where you have lived... if it pertains to your job. I would touch on the languages that you speak, and finally what you have done that you find rewarding. Good Luck!

Tell them about some of your interests (e.g., hobbies), how good a worker you are (e.g., prompt, honest, etc.), your education, you goals in life, and why they should hire you.

They just want to make sure you can talk and walk at the same time.
