Remember When -- Alan Jackson

Remember when I was young and so were you
and time stood still and love was all we knew
You were the first, so was I
We made love and then you cried
Remember when

Remember when we vowed the vows
and walked the walk
Gave our hearts, made the start, it was hard
We lived and learned, life threw curves
There was joy, there was hurt
Remember when

Remember when old ones died and new were born
And life was changed, disassembled, rearranged
We came together, fell apart
And broke each other's hearts
Remember when

Remmeber when the sound of little feet
was the music
We danced to week to week
Brought back the love, we found trust
Vowed we'd never give up
Remember when

Remember when thirty seemed old
Now lookn' back it's just a steppin' stone
To where we are,
Where we've been
Said we'd do it all again
Remember when
Remember when we said when we turned gray
When the children grow up and moved away
We won't be sad, we'll be glad
For all the life we've had
And we'll remember when

Probably "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" by The Righteous Brothers. This was used as the theme song in Always.

My husband says it's "Pop Goes the Weasel". I don't know why.

Since we're posting lyrics how bout a few bars from one of my GG Allin favorites "Sluts In The City?"

We got money, but we don't care
We get in trouble for the things we wear
We don't fit in, they're always closing doors
We get kicked around by everyone, outsiders looking in
We're the Cedar Street sluts, and we hate everyone

I have a few songs...

"The Way You Look Tonight"- Frank Sinatra
"Far Away" - Nickelback
"Anastasia"- Brave Saint Saturn
"Promise Me"- Pat McCurdy

Although the song that probably steals my heart each and every time is... "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine/ You make me happy when skies are grey/ You'll never know, dear/ Just how much I love you/ Please don't take my sunshine away".....

"Praying for the end of time" by Meatloaf.
It's not so much the song itself, but the words.
The guy forces himself to marry the girl just because he wants to tap that, even though he isn't really feeling her, then he makes a vow to himself that he will stay with her no matter what because he respects his marital vows.
That's devotion.
