Oh the memories of my first Tampon experience haha. No, pulling them out does not hurt, it can be a itsybitsy uncomfortable, but nothing painful. Sleeping with one is AOK, but sometimes if your on your 'heavy flow days', you may want to wear a panty liner while sleeping, sometimes they can leak. Just make sure you DON'T leave the same one in the whole day!! But, yes, you can sleep in one, no problem what so ever. And now you can go swimming as well!!!

If it hurts taking it out, then it hasn't absorbed as much "liquid" as it should, and probably needs to stay in a bit longer.
As long as it doesn't stay in 8 hours or more you should be fine, but read the side effects on the insert and memorize the symptoms of Toxic Shock Syndrome. If you start having any of these symptoms, remove the tampon immediately and seek medical help

To get it out just give the string a pull. You should only keep one i for a maximum of 5 hours. It is advised not to sleep with one in.

Getting it out isn't any problem, just tug on the string and pull it out slowly. I wouldn't suggest that you sleep with one in. I would also suggest that you don't use super max or deoderant tampons either. Even though toxic shock syndrome isn't a very publicized illness, my aunt died from it so just be sensible! good luck

Here's a trick that works for removing tampons as well as accepting the speculum: relax the muscles by exhaling! A female gyno taught me that- deep breath in, deep breath out and you're good to go.

Do you not have a mother with which to discuss such matters? Or a big sister? Or an aunt? Cousin? Favorite Teacher? I mean, do you really think this is the absolutely best forum to ask questions concerning feminine hygene products?

i've always slept with them in. its much better than a pad. just gently pull the string and it comes out. change it every 2-4 hours, depending on how heavy you bleed. congrats. i know how i felt when i started using tampons long ago.

You can go ahead and sleep without any problem. Getting it out isn't hard. Just pull on the string slowly and let it come out. No worries.
