Sometimes when I'm on my phone *it's verizon*, instead of saying "Verizon Wireless" on the screen it says "extended network" and I don't know what that means. Sometimes when it's like that it...I'm not able to make calls or recieve calls, and when I do, it's usually staticky...I was wondering if anyone knew what that meant or something.

But what if I'm in my area? The same thing happened to my bf. We were talking..and he's in one place..didn't move anywhere, and it cut us off. And then it showed he was on the extended network. That's..strange. But okay. Thanks.

It means you're roaming.

By roaming, it means you've travelled outside of your providers network.

Which means, now Verizon can charge you even more for calls when you make them while you're roaming.

So, when you see that, dont make or answer any calls. Unless you wanna pay out the wazoo for roaming charges.

I think it's when you're roaming. if not that, then you're in an area that you're not getting a good signal, or no signal at all
