Three days in Las Vegas is plenty. It's one of those places you visit many *times* as an ocassional orgy of decadence, but each visit should be relatively short because there's very little variation when it comes to the Vegas experience. Everyone does the same ritual.
It's a destination that's wonderful when you first arrive (the "wow" factor of the first couple hours on the Strip is difficult to describe), but fades as time passes.
1. Everyone gambles. There are basically 5 casino games: slots, blackjack, poker, craps, and roulette (all other games are simply variations of these). They're fun in the beginning, but once you've done everything, you can burnout very easily.
2. Everyone eats for hours and hours. Likewise, the buffets are huge, tasty, and wonderful, but after a few days of stuffing yourself silly with lobster, ribs, and sushi, it becomes tedious.
3. Everyone goes to a stage show. Shows are very expensive... you probably wouldn't want to do more than one or two on any single trip. Most of them are great, but there's no reason to see the same show more than once ..

Eat at Olives at the Bellagio Casino, and sit on the deck outside. There is a cool water show, free, on the weekends at 12 and week days at 3 pm. I like to get there on the weekend when they open at 11 to get the best table on the balcony.

The fountains at Bellagio,.. walk the streets to see the Strip lit up,.. in front of Paris, the 'statues' come to life to entertain the passer-bys...tickets to shows can be expensive, there's a kiosk that sell tickets at a very low cost, you need to buy tickets to see at least one major show in the hotels/casinos.

I heard the Christmas decor at Monte Carlo is pretty...didn't personally see it, but a friend did. Also, make sure you go to downtown and see the Fremont Experience. It's a fun type atmosphere.
