Will the Iran aid Lebonon, and will the US aid Israel? Will this be the beginning of WWIII?

This would be the perfect opportunity for Iran and Al queda to help Lebanon, and the US will be forced to make and decision. Then everyone will be force to make a decision

Just briefly, I'll answer you. I don't believe this is the beginning of WWIII. It would have to involve most of the globe to qualify for that, and I don't think this upstart action by Hezbollah will reach such proportions. It would also have to involve nuclear weaponry, which I don't think is available to anyone but Israel.

Iran is unlikely to give direct aid to Lebanon, nor will Lebanon want it. However, that doesn't mean that Iran will not do all the skulduggery that it can through Hezbollah and Syria as proxies.

The U.S. will provide military aid to Israel if they need it and ask for it. This is not to say that we would send troops, but rather equipment, anti-missile batteries, etc.

Since there is much uncertainty about the course of action of either Hezbollah or Israel, much less of other Middle Eastern countries as to their reaction to the current conflict, it is hard to say what will happen or who will be drawn into it in what way. There is now movement toward a cease fire as a first step to coming to some sort of reconciliation. This is an encouraging sign if the other nations such as Egypt get involved.

Iran has already aided Lebanon. The Hezbolah are backed and trained and directed by Iran. I don't think we will get involved physically. We will continue to support Israel's decisions, so long as they continue to try to avoid civillian targets. The Israelis can take care of themselves.

It is scary to see it that way...and it is possible it is the beginning of WW III. I prefer to see it as an END to this insanity and hope for the beginning of reason and logic to prevail in that part of the world.
