Both came out this year. Which is better? The one with "BYOB" and "Cigaro" (Mesmerize) or the one with "Lonely Day" and "Vicinity of Obscenity" (Hypnotize)?

I'm a big fan of both. I like them each for different reasons. I just saw them at Ozzfest on Saturday. They're energy and talent is mind blowing! I didn't think it was possible, but I now like them even more!

Mesmerize is a little better to listen to on my cd player in the car.
But Hypnotize is better at home. Why is that?

Hypnotize is clearly the heavier record of the two but it sacrifices songwriting and arrangement for texture. Mezmerize, on the other hand, is a bit more refined by SOAD standards in terms of the heaviness, but overall, the composition and cohesion of the record is much stronger than its sister record. Mezmerize is better than Hypnotize as a whole.
