I think you should just dump them both. I mean you can't choose one over the other then you know you must not have these real feelings.
There is ALWAYS other guys.
But basically all you can really do is
Follow your heart.

I don't know how old you are but you sound like you may be in your early teens. I guess I can answer your question regardless of your age. If you are interested in another guy you need to be honest with your boyfriend. Just tell him you feel like you need to get out of the relationship for a little while. You need some space. I don't think I would flirt with his best friend though. It could be a trick! You never know what guys are up to. I think if you are feeling like you are becoming interested in his friend then this could possibly mean you have been with this guy long enough! You're young and there are so many different guys out there. You don't need to commit to only one until you are ready to settle down. You need to get comfortable in your own skin first. Hang out with the girls...go to movies and do girl stuff with them. HAVE FUN!!! And, about that dance...just find a girl that's a friend and the two of you go together. You never know but there may be several guys that's had their eye on you but knew you were taken. Give yourself a chance and go for some adventure! Then if you decide you want your boyfriend back, if it's meant to be, he'll be waiting for you. If not it's good you got out when you did.

BE mature and go with your boyfriend and leave the other boy alone. You will end up losing them both as friends and they will be hurt and and not be friends if you keep flirting and encouraging the other boy. They may decide that their friendship is worth more than with you if you keep causing them to get mad.You will respect yourself and gain respect if you stay away from boy #2. If you decide to break up a while after the dance, make sure it is for reasons that are between just you two. Be true to yourself and to him. It will be a good start for your dating experience and later married life.

Love, like rain, can nourish from above, drenching couples with a soaking joy. But sometimes, under the angry heat of life, love dries on the surface and must nourish from below, tending to its roots, keeping itself alive.
Lost love is still love. It takes a different form, that's all. You can't see their smile or bring them food or tousle their hair or move them around a dance floor. But when those senses weaken, another heightens. Memory. Memory becomes your partner. You nurture it. You hold it. You dance with it.

Understand that no matter what you do with the other boy, your boyfriend will be hurt.
Now you have to consider how much hurting him will make you feel like a heel and whether that's a risk you're willing to take.
