They've never toured with the thought that it was their last tour. They probably will continue touring till one of them dies, the rest might even continue touring after that. We are very fortunate that they have the initiative and energy to keep on rockin' They certainly aren't doing it for the bucks. Nor is McCartney, or Tom Petty, or Pat Benatar, they are all touring this summer, among other old time original rockers. Steve Miller just played here in LA tonight. 35 years ago, we would have laughed at the thought.

Ah, yes...I remember it like it was yesterday. The year was 2036 and my friend, Margie, and I had tickets to the Rolling Stones 95th Farewell Tour. Since Mick had those bionic lips installed, there's just no stopping him. "I know it's only rock n' roll, but I like it," I said as we sat in the dining hall of the Bide-a-Wee Home for Aging Baby Boomers. When I turned around, she was dead---face down in her pureed green beans. "Can I get a witness?" the nurse yelled as she hustled up to fill out the death certificate. (They don't waste any time here because there's always such a demand for rooms. We Boomers live a long time, but we can't remember sh*t.) "Can I have her dessert?" anxiously asked the man from room 36B. "Only YOU could think of that at a time like this!" I replied with disgust. "I can't hear a word you are saying!" he shot back, cupping his hand behind his ear in a move reminiscent of Ronald Reagan when he didn't want to answer a question. I had HAD it with this place! Margie or no Margie, I was going to the concert. "If I'm not back in 10 minutes.....wait for 15!" I shouted over my shoulder to no one in particular. I ducked out the door as the coroner's attendants came in. I made my way to the bus stop, Rolling Stones tickets clutched in my well-manicured (but liver spotted) hands. I just wish I could remember what happened after that.....

They've never officially billed anything as their "farewell" tour, but as the years go by, the media hypes up each time as the "last chance" the fans may have to see them.

Hopefully soon. I would rather listen Paris Hilton sing her dumb songs than listen to leather face continue to sing horrible songs.
