Possible problems or losses to the original manufacturers whose branded clothes are being imitated could be:

1. Loss of revenue as imitated number of product units would also get sold in the grab of the brand.
2. Quality compromise by imitators and possible loss of goodwill of the brand.
3. Price cutting. The imitated products can easily be sold at lower price than that fixed by the genuine manufacturer. Every genuine seller in the chain loose on volume sale as the customer unaware of the imitation would feel the same product being sold at a lesser price somewhere else and would buy it from there only.
