I'm getting one on my lower back and I want it to be really good one because I'll have it forever. So does anybody have any ideas or websites with pics of lots of tattoos?

I suggest going to the library and combing through art books. Find a style of art that you like and images that you enjoy. Take these books to a tattoo artist and further discribe what you like and don't like about the images (be prepared to pay for the artist's time and drawing) and have them custom draw a tattoo for you. If it isn't exactly what they want, state what you want changed until you are satisfied.
Choose a tattoo because you can't live without it. Not because you can live with it.

You gotta choose that on your own. I've got a butterfly with roses and like a tribal design. It's real painful too let me tell you know. It's just gotta be something that you like and want on your body for the rest of your life. Try looking at some tattoo mag's or just go to a tat shop and I'm sure they have plenty of stuff for you to look at. Most people get like flowers or tribal stuff but everyone is different just go with what you like and your own instinct. Good Luck

It is better to get a custom one rather than getting one from a website, etc and go to beach and found tons of people with the same tattoo as yours. I used www.designmytattoos.com to get all my custom ones. Or you could ask ur tattoo artist to draw one out for u. & since its something that gonna stick with you forever, I advice you to get something that represents you. Like your name, horoscope, etc Do not tattoo your bf's name! It's definitely silly. If its for design, go for tribal. Do not go for pictures as what seems to be "fashionable" design today does not mean it will be in 20 years to come. Look at those old men with old schools tattoos; eagles, ladies, skeletons, etc. I don't think you would want to explain to your children saying "OoOoh, don't laugh! When it was mommy's time, these tats are "fashionable". Peace out!

Something classic, perhaps hidden somewhere like the outside of the upper thigh... If you want to be unique don't do the lower back...However, allot of people say that tats in that area are sexy... No images, don't do lots of color it will fade with age.. No skulls or dragons, webs, knives, get the picture.... symbolism can be really cool if it's done right... Chinese characters, Polynesian designs can be cool, some other personally defined symbol

I am an older lady and I just had a little heart put on my hand.
You want to do something unique. What is your passion? What is your personility like? My son likes Chinese. So he has a small tattoo on his stomach. My other has tribal art. As he is Native American. so it just depends on what fits you. Design it yourself. Hope this helps.

This is what I did: I figured out what I wanted ( I collect toy robots so I wanted some robots on my arm). I waited 3 years to get it. I said to myself: Ok, If I still want this in 3 years, I'm getting it. And after my designated time period, I still wanted it and I got it. Whatever you decided to get, MAKE SURE YOU'LL WANT IT WHEN YOUR 80 YEARS OLD! Don't get someone's name, don't get something you don't like what so ever! And make sure that if you sunbathe, to put sunscreen on it or it will fade over time.

It is your back and your tattoo..You are the one that'll have to live with it so that should be totally up to you to decide and nobody else.
